Rajkot: Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) Regional Centre of Rajkot at Gujarat, in collaboration with School of Translation Studies and Training (SOTST), conducted a four-day training programme, namely - National Translation Training Programme.
As per sources, the programme is divided into 12 sessions, which covers the areas concept and paradigms of translation, official translation, translation and mass communication, literature and translation, problems in translation i.e. cultural, regional and dialectical barriers etc., banking and legal translation and many other areas of translation.
Of the total 47 participants who attended the programme, belongs to eight districts of Gujarat states, which comprise of a group with 26 participants from various colleges of higher education of Gujarat state, 13 from Saurashtra University - faculty and research and seven from BSNL, Indian Railways and other professional institutions. Further, with 28 PhDs, 13 MA/ MCA/ M Sc and reaming others made the interactions, group activities and practice sessions a grand success.
