IIM-Calcutta Students Get 56 Percent Pay Hike

Kolkata: Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta (IIM-C)students of the postgraduate programme for executives has got a 56 percent hike in their average salary package, according to a statement issued on Thursday i.e. on May 20, 2010.
 
The statement also said that there has been a 56 percent increase in CTC (Cost to Company) on average package. From Rs 8 lakh (per annum) average CTC last year, the final placement saw it rise to Rs12.5 lakh.  
 
The batch size in the Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) was 30 students. The course duration is one year. Four of the students were sponsored by the manufacturing industries. The rest 26 students got placements with 35 companies.
 
The recruiters include names such as Wipro, Tata Cummins, ITC, Voltas, TCS, Vedanta, HP, Cummins, Bharat McNally, Anand Group, Shinsei Bank and Wheels India.
 
Furthermore, the third batch of students enrolled for the programme had an average eight-year work experience.
