Delhi University (DU) has given its nod to hold an orientation session for this year's freshers, which is scheduled to be held on July 30, 2011. For the first time in its 89 years, the University has given its approval to organize an orientation session.
The University will conduct the orientation session in association with The Alumni Fraternity (TAF), with an aim to accustom students with the way the university functions, its various committees and outreach programmes.
Akash Gupta, National Advisory Team, TAF, said that Delhi University despite being one of India's oldest as well as the best universities lacks a common orientation programme. This in turn leaves the students in the lurch as far as university activities go.
Furthermore, he added that Re:Evolution is being anticipated as a one-day orientation-cum-evolving experience for all the fresh entrants. Apart from the separate college orientations, they hope to give students a chance to understand what other colleges are doing.
