New Delhi: The 24th Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) 24th Convocation is scheduled to be held on Monday i.e. September 5, 2011. The announcement was made by IGNOU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof V N Rajasekharan Pillai, through a public notice, recently.
As per the sources, Minister of State of Human Resource Development, Dr (Mrs) D Pundeswari and Minister of State of Ministry of External Affairs & MHRD, Sh E Ahmed will grace the event as chief guests. The convocation will be conducted at the Sanchar Kendra at the IGNOU headquarters located in New Delhi.
Students who have passed their Master, Bachelor and Diploma examinations held in June 2011, will be eligible for award of their respective Degrees and Diplomas. Moreover, students who have registered for getting their degree certificates in person at convocation will only be permitted to attend the convocation at New Delhi and at their respective regional centers.
The main ceremony for the award of Gold Medals, Degrees and Diplomas to eligible will be conducted at New Delhi venue; however, the event will be organized at IGNOU’s Regional centres simultaneously through teleconferencing mode.
IGNOU’s main regional centres are Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Agartala, Aligarh, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Darbhanga, Dehradun, Guwahati, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Jabalpur, Karnal, Khanna, Kolkata, Koraput, Kohima, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Panaji, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Siliguri, Srinagar, Trivandrum, Varanasi, and Vijayawada.
