New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) incorporates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) successfully at its headquarters in New Delhi. The announcement was made by Pro-Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, Dr Latha Pillai.
As per sources, Prof. V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, University, IGNOU Vice- Chancellor (VC), felicitated the Directors of Schools, Finance Officer, Head of Computer Division and Registrar (Admin) by distributing certificates of recognition. The felicitation was done in order to recognize the hard work of the staff members of the University.
An award committee has selected the awardees on the basis on some parameters decided by the committee. Moreover, on the basis of those parameters, 30 IGNOU users, five Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) consultants and 12 Schools/Division/Sections were selected for the recognition for their noteworthy contribution.
In the last quarter of 2007, the ERP People Soft project was started. All the modules were deployed by end of 2008. Most of the modules are extensively being used by all employees of IGNOU headquarters for everyday transactions such as Leave, Medical, Payroll, Inventory, workforce administration and the financial and accounting transactions.
Presently, all the transactions will be captured centrally in ORACLE database, giving rise to consistent and authenticated data flow and MIS. The work has been accomplished using PeopleSoft modules, FSCM and HRMS through TCS as the system integrator.
