IGNOU Inks Pact with Three Chinese Universities

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three Chinese universities. The announcement was made by an Official on June 2, 2011 (Thursday).
 
As per sources, the three institutions namely are Open University of Hong Kong, Human Normal University and Qingdao Technological University. According to the MoU, professors from IGNOU will get the opportunity to teach in the Chinese universities under an exchange programme and vice versa.
 
P.R. Ramanujam, Professor Vice Chancellor, said that the institutions have recognized diverse areas of common interest. He said that development and sharing of course material and services for lifelong learning shall be a major area. He also added that they may accept self-financed students from IGNOU to study the Chinese language, culture, history, fine arts and other related subjects.
