Ahmedabad: Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will announce the results of the final placements of the flagship programme tomorrow i.e. on September 7, 2011. IIM-A will also announce the names of institutes which have given its consent to fulfill the Placement Reporting Standards that it has sketched.
As per sources, on March 3, the institute concluded the cohort-based placement for students of Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). However, a few students were without any confirmed placement in the end. Therefore, the institute went on to seek suitable jobs for the remaining students in a different mode of placement called 'rolling placement'.
Recently, as per the institute's framed 'Placement Reporting Standard,' the placement results are required to be announced three months after graduation. However, IIM-A has delayed the announcement by several months as its annual convocation was held on March 26, 2011.
Besides, the sources at the institute alleged that the delay was due to the fact that one of the students of the 2009-11 batch had not been placed till recently. The placement authorities at the institute blamed the delay on the auditing process of the placement results. The audit was carried out at CRISIL, a global analytical company which provides ratings, research, and risk and policy advisory services.
