Nagpur: Nearly 5,000 aspirants from the city of Nagpur will appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2011 scheduled on April 10, 2011. IIT JEE is an entrance test conducted for admissions into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
As per sources, over 4.85 lakh candidates across the nation will appear from 1,051 designated centres. They will fight it out for roughly 10,000 seats in 16 IITs and Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. The results will be declared on May 25 and online filling of choices would start from May 30. This year IIT Kanpur is in-charge of exam. Moreover, the pattern of test will remain same as last year.
In addition, sources mentioned that last year around 4.55 lakh appeared for IIT-JEE. Nearly 1000 more students are appearing from the city compared to last year. The students have been given various centres in the city including Bhavan's Vidya Mandir (BVM), YCCE, Centre Point School, and Ramdeobaba Engineering College. The directors / lecturers of various coaching classes are optimistic about higher number of students cracking the exam this year.
