Ahmedabad: All the other Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are keen on setting up incubation centres for start-ups, influenced by the success stories of IIM-A and IIM-B.
As per sources, the IIM-A's Centre for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship (CIIE) was set up in 2001. It was established with support from the state government and Union government. Later, in March 2002 a similar center was started by IIM-B.
Presently, IIM - Kozhikode (IIM-K) is planning to set up a centre for entrepreneurship and innovation. According to a statement issued by Nandakumar MK, faculty and chair, entrepreneurship cell of IIM-K, the proposed centre will promote innovation, provide incubation facilities and promote research. Besides, IIMs at Indore, Lucknow and Calcutta are also eager to set up similar centres.
