Department of Polymer Science and Technology, University of Calcutta, popularly known as Calcutta University, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme, to be offered in the ensuing session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of candidates' performance in the PhD eligibility test (PET), followed by personal interview, to be conducted by the University department.
Note: Candidates possessing a degree in Master of Science with NET / GATE / M Phil or candidates having degree in Master of Engineering or Technology need not sit for PET and can directly appear for the interview.

PET is scheduled to be conducted on December 27, 2012 (at 12.00 noon).

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form from the University’s official website: http://caluniv.ac.in/. The application fee is Rs 100 which is to be paid through a Challan (obtainable from sales counter of College Street campus of the University). The duly filled in and completed application form (in all aspects) should be sent to the Head of the Department, Department of Polymer Science and Technology, UCSTA, University of Calcutta, 92, A.P.C Road, Kolkata - 700009, latest by December 26, 2012. For more detailed information about admission, eligibility criteria and application procedure, candidates are advised to visit the University’s aforementioned official website.
Note: No TA / DA shall be paid to the candidates appearing in PET or called for the interview.
