DU to Hold Common Journalism Entrance Test 2012 on May 27

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU), will conduct Common Journalism Entrance Test (C-JET) 2012 on May 27, 2012, which is a week after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) senior secondary results are declared. Reportedly, the test is being coordinated by the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC), this year.

In the previous year, the entrance test was held in the month of June. However, announcing this date, DU has started an early race for students seeking admission in the Journalism course from the University.

In addition, the mode of application for the test has also been changed. Now, the five colleges that offer journalism courses will have a mixed application system. This mixed application system will allow students to apply online or fill the form physically. Physical forms will be made available at all the five colleges; however, they can only be submitted at the DCAC

Explaining about the new to-be-used application process, MS Rawat, Principal, DCAC, said that the college wanted to make the application process accessible and equitable. The decisions regarding application fee have not been taken so far but the registration is expected to open by April 5, the principal added.

Rawat further informed that the admission process is starting early this year so that the admissions are made in time and no time is wasted in coming out with multiple lists after the session starts.

Along with the application process, the eligibility criteria for admission have also been modified. The best of four percentages required to take the test has been decreased to 60%, which was 70% last year. However, it is mandatory for a student to at least have a minimum of 60% in English to be eligible.
