JMI Annual Convocation to be Conducted on November 22

New Delhi: The annual convocation of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is scheduled to be held on November 22, 2012 at the Lawns of Dr. M.A. Ansari Auditorium of the University. As per the notification issued by the University, candidates who have passed their examinations in the year 2011 will be awarded degrees / diploma during the convocation ceremony. In addition, medals will also be presented to the toppers of the same year (for PhDs notified up to September 2012).
 
However, for the list of Awardees of degrees / diplomas and recipients of medals and also for any subsequent announcement, candidates are requested to visit the University’s official website: http://jmi.ac.in/ on or after October 26, 2012. It is also notified that students who register themselves by November 16, 2012 will only be permitted to attend the convocation ceremony.
 
Originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in the year 1920, JMI became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988 by a Special Act of the Parliament. It offers a multitude of disciplines through a number of centres for learning and research etc. Besides this, the University has a campus with a wide network which connects a large number of its departments and offices. The University is famous for its Mass Communication courses and several renowned faces in this field have trained themselves in Jamia.
