New Delhi: It’s admission time at DU again! Aspirants seeking entry into the best college in town can start their take from St. Stephen’s College, one of the most reputed and prestigious colleges of higher education in India. Starting from today, the college has started its admission process.
Online forms are now on sale and can be obtained from the official website of the college: http://www.ststephens.edu/. Karen Gabriel, media coordinator, St. Stephen’s College, said that admissions are made online, this year, to minimize the use of paper; thus, making the process eco-friendly. However, offline forms will also be sold from June 4, 2012 onwards.
Gabriel further added that online forms are on sale at Rs 50 while the printed versions are available at Rs 250, in order to contribute to a greener environment. Students can obtain the offline forms from the counters on all days (except Saturdays and Sundays) from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm.
Candidates purchasing the forms online can make the payment through debit and credit cards. The amount can also be paid in cash through various State Bank of India branches, across India. Being a minority institution, St. Stephen’s College is the sole institute that does not accept centralized forms released by DU every year.
In addition, it is the only college wherein students have to undergo interviews to secure admission into different programmes conducted here. Though marks obtained in Class 12 fulfill 85% of the admission eligibility, the remaining 15% will account for the students’ performance in the interview.
Candidates belonging to the physically challenged category can obtain the hard copy of the applications forms free of cost. However, they will have to produce a certificate proving their disability while making the purchase. The last for submitting application forms in June 18, 2012 (up to 4.00 pm), while interviews will start from June 25, 2012.
