Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has decided to start one year diploma programme in Quranic Studies and Calligraphy & Graphic Design from the upcoming academic session 2013-14. The decision has been taken by the University on the recommendation of the Board of Studies of the Centre for Quranic studies.
On behalf of the Academic Council, the Vice Chancellor of the University has approved the proposal for initiating the diploma programmes under Section 19(3) of the AMU Act, 1920. As per the notification issued by the University, the programmes will be conducted in two semesters. Moreover, the intake in Quranic Studies is decided to be 30, whereas, the intake in Calligraphy and Design will be 15.
Candidates who seek admission in the programmes can obtain the application form from the University by paying an application processing fee of Rs 200. The last date of form submission is April 16, 2013. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in qualifying examination, followed by interview.
