IIM-Lucknow Reduces its Fee by 10%

Good news for management students! Studying at IIM-Lucknow will be cheaper, this year. IIM-Lucknow has decided to reduce its fee for the postgraduate programme in management by 10%, for the academic years 2013-15. The announcement regarding the dip in the fee structure was announced by IIM Lucknow Director Dr Devi Singh on Friday i.e. on April 12, 2013. 

This year, the fee for courses including postgraduate programmes will cost students Rs 10.8 lac rather than Rs 12 lac. According to a statement issued by IIM-L, it is for the first time such a decision has been taken in any IIM across the country and is a reversal trend. Generally, only an upward revision is witnessed in the fee structure.


Moreover, on the occasion, Dr JJ Irani, chairman of IIM Lucknow Board of Governors, said that these days education has become costly, and the decision taken by IIM-Lucknow is likely to help needy students undertake education at the institution, at the same time it will also broaden the area of selection among eligible students for studying at IIM.

IIM-Lucknow is one of the premier management institutes of India. The Government of India established Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow in 1984, as a national level school of excellence in management science. Among all the IIM’s, IIM-Lucknow is the first to open a second campus. The institute provides courses at the postgraduate level, to enhance knowledge of the management studies. IIM Lucknow is the first and so far the only IIM to open a satellite campus.
