Calcutta University PhD Programme in Archaeology Admission 2012

University of Calcutta, Kolkata, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme in Archeology, to be offered in the ensuing session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Research Eligibility Test (RET), scheduled to be held on the date mentioned below, followed by an interview, to be conducted by the University.
 
Note:
  • Candidates who have qualified M Phil / NET / SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship do not have to appear for the RET (Research Eligibility Test). However, they should qualify in the interview to secure admission.
  • Candidates appearing for the interview must submit a research proposal or Statement of Purpose (SOP) on the day of the interview.

How to Apply
Interested candidates should apply in the prescribed application format made available on the University’s official website: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/. The duly filled in application form, along with all requisite documents (details given on the website), should be submitted to the Head of Department of Archaeology, Calcutta University, latest by February 15, 2012. For more details regarding application, eligibility criteria and admission procedure, candidates are requested to visit the University’s aforementioned official website.
