IGNOU Invites Applications for BCA Course 2013 Admissions

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, has invited applications for admissions into the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme, offered in the academic year 2013. The last date of application will close on June 15, 2013.

For details interested candidates are requested to visit the IGNOU’s official website: www.ignou.ac.in or contact nearest IGNOU Regional Centre/Study Centre. Candidates can obtain the prospectus from the Regional Centres in person against a payment of Rs 200 or by post by sending a DD of Rs 250 drwan in favor of IGNOU, New Delhi, to Registrar (Student Registration Division), Indira Gandhi National Open University, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-68. The application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the university website www.ignou.ac.in.

The essential purpose of the programme is to open a channel of admission for computing courses for students, who have done the 10+2 and are interested in pursuing career in computing/IT sector. After acquiring the Bachelor’s Degree (BCA) from IGNOU, there is an additional scope of pursuing an MCA at IGNOU or Master’s Programme at any other University/Institute.

According to a release by the University, the School of Computer and Information Sciences of IGNOU was set up to demonstrate that an open learning approach to computer education is not only possible but also preferable. The School guarantees high quality education at different levels and disseminates learning and knowledge through an innovative multiple media teaching/learning package. IGNOU’s Bachelor of Computer Applications Programme allows multiple-entry and multiple exits. On successful completion of a programme, students become, eligible to move to the next stage, subject to fulfilling the qualification/criteria laid down.
