Mumbai: Mumbai University has decided to postpone the exam dates following the heavy downpour in the city. New dates will now be prepared by the University. Considering the fact how normal life is affected during heavy rains, the University has taken the decision to save the students from the situation.
Manju Nichani, Principal, KC College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Churchgate said that initially there were no advance communications from the university about rainy days. One had to wait for instructions. However, this time the University has itself directed to take the necessary precautions.
Heavy rains during high tides are likely to throw normal life out of gear. So, the University has decided that it is best to avoid scheduled examinations or important events on these days. All city colleges have marked this as a welcome step, an initiative taken for the convenience of students. Venkatramani, Registrar, Mumbai University, has said that the city was witnessing flood every year. So the university had decided to be cautious for it did not want the students to get stranded in rains.
