New Delhi: Students aspiring to get admission into top class management institutes have reason to smile! Institutes of Management (IIMs) have decided to make CAT (Common Admission Test) a year long affair. The decision once implemented would be allow students to take the entrance exams into the most coveted central government-run management schools throughout the year.
Satish Deodhar, CAT Co-Ordinator of IIM-Ahmedabad, has predicted that the implementation requires the development of a huge data bank. But once that is done, students would be allowed to take the entrance throughout the year. According to IIM sources, initially, the idea to conduct the CAT throughout the year was mooted for 2009. However, due to lack of question bank with the management schools, the process could not be initiated.
