DTU Launches New Disciplines in M Tech Course

New Delhi: Good new for students who wish to pursue M Tech courses in Delhi Technological University (DTU)! DTU has announced the launching of three new disciplines in M Tech course namely M Tech (Geotechnical Engineering), M Tech (Signal Processing and Digital Design) and M Tech (Bio-Informatics). Each course would commence with an intake capacity of 18 students.
 
Eligibility criteria prescribed for students who wish seek admission into this course is a minimum of 60 percent marks in the qualifying examination and a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Applicant would be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in GATE as well as a personal interview.
 
The M Tech in Geotechnical Engineering would be taught under the Civil Engineering Department. The course has been designed to focus on topics such as understanding of soil and rock mechanics, latest techniques of remote-sensing, use of Geographic Information System (GIS), and Global Positioning System (GPS) in mapping the surface of the earth. In addition, other topics that will be taught include modeling and simulation of Earth systems to study changes that occur in sub-soil systems and rock dynamics.
 
The M Tech in Signal Processing and Digital Design course is being offered by the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. The programme will be beneficial for students who wish to study digital design analysis. The M Tech in Bioinformatics would be taught by the Biotechnology Department. The course deals with inter-disciplinary topics wherein fields of science such as Biology, Computer Science and Information Technology are merged together.
