DTU Mid Sem Exam Commences Today Only With Fourth Year Takers

New Delhi: Finally, the mid semester examinations of Delhi Technological University (DTU), commenced today, after students again put them off due to the ongoing protests. However, it is only the fourth year students who would be appearing in the exams, while those in the first, second and third year would walk out to donate blood.

According to the DTU officials, the expulsion of two fourth year students Ravi Shekhar and Nitin Baraiya has also been revoked. Following the expulsion of two fourth year students Ravi Shekhar and Nitin Baraiya, the protest at DTU began on March 4, which further intensified with only 88 out of 3010 students taking the first mid-semester exams on March 15. Further, when the student leaders met the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit their agitation was suspended.

As per sources, while others have decided to go ahead with the agitation, students of fourth year will have to sit for the examinations to complete their course and be eligible to retain their placements. In the meanwhile, the university will re-conduct the examination that was held on March 15 and allow sitting those students who had already appeared in the examination earlier. Those re-appearing for the examination have an advantage over others as the paper in which the students score higher marks will be considered.
