IGNOU Graduates to Get Meaningful Employment – VC

New Delhi: Prof. V N Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), has announced that IGNOU would pay more attention in addressing the issue of meaningful employment to its graduates this year onwards. Initiating its series of campus recruitments, IGNOU is arranging with multi-national corporations and IT companies for placement of its students in the areas of Information Technology and Communication services.

Mr Pillai said that IGNOU has undertaken an ambitious and relevant study to understand the extent and level of employable skills that IGNOU students have been exposed to. He also added that interested students and companies may get in touch with the IGNOU Placement Cell. Students can fill up an on-line questionnaire uploaded at the university website and submit.

In addition to this, Mr Pillai also emphasized that IGNOU's distance education system has proved itself to be an effective education and skill development model for highly populated countries all over the world. Moreover, it is also trying to enhance the quality of our services to the ever- increasing student population. Innovative and flexible use of different strategies of teaching and learning needs to be adapted in all our activities.
