IGNOU To Allow Students To Write Exams in Regional Languages

Good news for students pursuing courses at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)! IGNOU will soon introduce a new system, according to which students will be able to write the examinations in regional languages.

VN Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, has said that IGNOU's Student Evaluation Division (SED) is currently working on implementing the proposal at the ground-level in its 60 regional centres across the country. He also added the university has been working on a series of ideas to meet the diverse and often daunting expectations of students who cannot afford to acquire education from a conventional university.

Currently, IGNOU has also taken several initiatives for the benefit of more than 30 lakh students across India. Moreover, students will get their exam results faster and conveniently, as the University has created six zones to decentralize the evaluation of answer scripts. Due to decentralization, revaluation of answer scripts and early declaration of results for term-end examinations will be handled at the respective evaluation centres.
