New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has secured the eighth position in the top 10 list comprising of 65 B-schools, according to the latest Financial Times (FT) Business School rankings. IIM-A has been ranked number eighth in the list for its two-year Postgraduate Programme (PGP). The institutes were assessed on 28 parameters.
As per sources, IIMA had participated in the ranking assessment for the first time. In addition, this is also the first time that an Indian B-school has been ranked among the top 10 for its flagship postgraduate programme. The ranking list was topped by the Icole Supirieure de Commerce de Paris (ECSP Europe) followed by CEMS, The Global Alliance in Management Education at rank two.
Dr. Samir Kumar Barua, Director of IIMA, said that the rankings would help the institute in further international collaborations. Further, he informed that to be a part of the FT assessment, institutes needed to qualify for it first.
IIMA is the first business school in India that have been accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Moreover, now, it is planning to be assessed by the US equivalent, the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business.
