New Delhi: University of Delhi, popularly known as Delhi University (DU), tops the chart in the list of top 20 universities in India. DU is the best university was proved in a survey conducted by Ipsos, an independent company that conducts survey-based research. Next in the list was University of Bombay and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) at the second and third place, respectively.
Others that made it to the list include Jadavpur University, Pune University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), University of Calcutta, Hyderabad University, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), University of Vellore, Osmania University and Punjab University among others.
The criteria for judging the universities was based on their history, reputation, admission process, course curriculum, learning environment, faculty competence, infrastructure, foreign exchange programmes, research facilities, laboratories, etc.
