University of Calcutta, popularly known as Calcutta University, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission against ten vacant seats of PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programme in English, under the Department of English Language and Literature, to be offered in the upcoming session 2012. Admission will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the entrance test, followed by an interview, to be conducted by the University.
Note:
- Candidates who have qualified M Phil / NET / SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship do not have to appear for the written examination. However, they have to appear for the interview session.
- Candidates appearing for the interview must submit a 500-word research proposal or Statement of Purpose (SOP) on the day of the interview.
