New Delhi: This year, many students at Delhi University (DU) are taking the help of ECA and sports quota in order to get enrolled, due to its high cut-offs. Students are done with the sports quota trails, and are now banking on ECA trials that commenced today i.e. from June 28, 2011.
As per sources, colleges affiliated to DU are allowed to reserve up to 5% seats for students who want to apply under the ECA and sports category, respectively. This year, there is a little change in the admission scenario, as students are stalling two seats at a time as many colleges do not require students to submit their original documents. However, this had been the trend until last year.
According to a statement issued by Kavita Sharma, the head of physical education and also in-charge of the ECA admissions at Miranda House, this might turn into a problem, as the ECA results would be declared only after a week and if students withdraw from colleges they have already taken admission in, there is chances that seats might go empty.
