New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is all set to introduce a series of postgraduate (PG) medical programmes. The University has made the announcement regarding the launch of the postgraduate medical programme on Tuesday i.e. on September 13, 2011.
As per the statement, IGNOU affiliated School of Health Sciences (SOHS) will set up a medical cell wherein a series of post graduate medical programmes having national and social significance shall be introduced. Also, the school is initiating the planning development of three full-time postgraduate medical programmes of two year duration each.
The three upcoming full-time postgraduate medical programmes are - Post Graduate Diploma in Anaesthesia, Post Graduate Diploma in Radio-Diagnosis and Post Graduate Diploma in Critical Care Medicine for those with MBBS degree. Furthermore, the statement mentioned that the main objective of launching these programmes is to solve the need of trained doctors in the above specialties.
