New Delhi: This year, Panjab University is flooded with B Com and Economics course aspirants, due to high-cut off marks in some of the Delhi University (DU) colleges.
The high cut-offs in BCom courses (99% to 100%) in DU affiliated colleges is leading many students from Delhi to seek admissions in Panjab University (PU) colleges in Chandigarh. Reportedly, in the current academic session, the University has witnessed significant increase in the number of applications from Delhi for BCom and Economic courses.
AK Vashisht, coordinator of BCom admissions at PU, said that the university has received more than 9000 applications. He mentioned that the number of applications received is six times more than the seats available this year.
Furthermore, he informed that apart from applications from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, the University has received a large number of applications from Delhi. He added when compared to last year, this year, the number of applications from Delhi has increased drastically.
