New Delhi: Sharda University on Wednesday i.e. on July 13, 2011, organized a national seminar on the subject matter of Advanced Materials,at the auditorium in its campus. The conference was a collaborative proposal of Research and Technology Development Centre of Sharda University and Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
To grace the occasion, Prof. Dinesh K. Agrawal, Materials Research Institute, Pennstate (MRI), USA, was present as the Chief Guest. Also, there were other eminent speakers present in the occasion, from IIT, Delhi - Prof. Neeraj Khare and Prof. V. D. Vankar; DRDO Headquarters - Dr. Chandra Prakash; Sharda University - Dr. N. B. Singh and Prof. R M Mehra, Dr. S. K. Mishra (Convener); Moser Baer India Ltd - Dr. G. R. Nyati, JIIT University - Dr. R. K. Dwivedi, AMU and Aligarh – Dr. Raffiuddin.
During the conference, it was explained how materials have been extensively studied both from the point of view of academic and research interest and its exploitation for commercial use for number of device applications. The conference was attended by scientists, academicians, technopreneurs and students of Sharda University. In addition, a workshop eas conducted at the national symposium. The points that were discussed in the workshop are: Piezoelectric Ceramics, Ferroelectric Ceramics, Nano Materials and Composites, Carbon Nanotubes and Metallic Materials.
