Greater Noida: Sharda University has organized a voluntary blood donation camp in order to observe the World Blood Donor Day.Sharda University is one of the renowned universities in Uttar Pradesh which known for its excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development.
The voluntary Blood donation camp was organized at Sharda Hospital on June 14, 2011 (World Blood Donor Day). As per sources, large numbers of people were seen making a beeline at the Blood Bank of Sharda Hospital. The preparation for the same were well organized with catchy posters bearing slogan “Celebrating Your Gift of Blood” and buzz created for the cause by student volunteers.
The volunteers, students, hospital staff member and University staff showed an overwhelming response for the noble cause. Over 25 donations were made at the Blood Bank. The donors also registered their contact details with the concerned hospital authorities so that they can be contacted in future for further donation in case of any emergency.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Geeta Dev, HOD Pathology, Sharda Hospital said that the importance of Blood cannot be overstated. She concluded saying that the department at Sharda Hospital feels extremely proud of the fact that this initiative on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day will help in saving someone's life in the hour of the need.
