Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University, Kolkata, West Bengal, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mathematics programme, to be offered at the department in the ensuing session 2012. Selection will be made on the basis of entrance test merit, followed by viva-voce / counseling, to be conducted by the University on the below mentioned date.
Note: Candidates, who have already qualified UGC / CSIR (JRF) Examinations NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship or passed M Phil / M Tech or equivalent examination, are exempted from appearing in the admission test. However, they have to appear in the viva-voce / counseling.

How to Apply
Interested candidates may apply on plain paper as per the prescribed format of the University (given on the official website of the University: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/). In addition, one has to pay an application fee of Rs 100 at the cash counter of the University through Challan (obtainable from the University Sales counter at CU College Street Campus). The duly completed application form (as per the prescribed format) should be submitted at the Department of Applied Mathematics, University College of Science, Rashbehari Siksha Prangan 92, A P C Road, Kolkata, West Bengal - 700 009, on or before July 15, 2012.
