New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University, popularly known as IGNOU, New Delhi, has introduced six-month training programme on Panchakarma Therapy. As per the University statement, it is a residential, skill development programme comprising of practical and theoretical training with hospital posting.
Centre for Traditional Knowledge Systems (CTKS), IGNOU, had envisioned the programme and launched it for building and enhancing the livelihood opportunities for both female and male candidates in Ayurved. The University statement also mentioned that the training will be offered at the campus of the Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT), Bangalore, a government recognized research organization with a clinical centre.
Debjani Roy, Director, CTKS, said that all aspiring candidates seeking admission in the programme shall have to come to Bangalore and attend the personal interview for admission. Only 20 candidates will be selected for the programme, he further added.
Candidates, who have passed tenth standard examination with functional knowledge of English and are between the age of 18 and 28 years, are eligible to apply. The training of the selected candidates will begin from January 2013 and on succesful completion of the training, they will be awarded with a Certificate of Participation. Admission seekers should apply for the programme on or before the last date of submission of the application form i.e. December 25, 2012. Moreover, application is to be sent to CTKS, Block-1, Room No. 15, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110 068.
