IIM Lucknow Signs MoU with Singapore Management University

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Singapore Management University (SMU) to enter into a long term relationship, to support each other in pursuit of excellence in global business education. Both the institutions will closely collaborate for research, executive education, and faculty and student exchange programmes.

SMU and IIM-Lucknow will investigate avenues to enhance the research mission. Collaborative case studies will be developed and used for teaching purposes, and a series of faculty research workshops will be organised. The two institutes will also explore the possibility of jointly designing, developing and delivering executive education programmes in specific areas of interest to both institutions and companies co-located in Singapore and Lucknow.

As a beginning of the association, the two institutions organised a joint workshop on Monday. The theme was Innovation and entrepreneurship.On the occasion, IIM-L director Devi Singh said, As the world gets globally connected, unification of professional education enriches the process of learning and reaches a greater potential. With globalisation come opportunities that have been created in various domains of learning. Research cannot be confined to geographies. The collaboration will help in sharing our expertise and collective learning.''

The MoU was signed by provost and deputy president of SMU, Professor Rajendra Srivastava and director, IIM-L, Devi Singh. Both IIM Lucknow and SMU would closely collaborate for research, executive education programmes and faculty and student exchange programme, Singh told reporters here.In order to invent new measures of teaching and learning, we today join hands with one of the Asias's leading institutions, SMU, to share our expertise and learn together, he further added.
