DU School of Open Learning to Adopt Semester System

New Delhi: Delhi University's (DU) School of Open Learning (SOL) will adopt the semester mode for its undergraduate courses. However, it will be implemented from the next year only. Presently, only postgraduate courses run in the semester system at SOL.

Dinesh Gupta, Deputy Director of SOL has informed that the implementation of semester system will not be possible from this academic session. He said the reason is that the syllabus is not yet handed over by the university authorities to the School of Open Learning (SOL). He also added that the syllabus formation is still under process.

Furthermore, he also added that in general any change in policy made by DU takes a year's gap in application in SOL. Sources informed that students who enroll in SOL this year won't be able to migrate to a regular college, if they wish to, next year, because regular colleges would have already adapted to the semester system from this year.
