Miranda House Flooded With Aspirants

New Delhi: On the first day of admissions at Miranda House over 65 % of its seats were filled. Of the total of 499 seats in the college, 321 have been taken. It is one of the most-sought after colleges of Delhi University (DU).
 
As per sources, the Miranda House has over-admitted students in three courses i.e. Economics, Political Science and Mathematics. Forty students have already taken admission against the 31 seats allotted to the college for BA (Hons) Economics. For 27 Political Science seats, 37 students have turned and 47 students have taken admission for 35 Mathematics seats.
 
Besides, the admission for the first cut-off list closes on June 20. The college will have to admit every eligible student who meets the prescribed cut-off the last date of admission date specified. Pratibha Jolly, Principal of Miranda House has said that the college cut-off is very realistic. She also added that they have to play along with the University, but the new admission policy was a wrong idea.
