Sharda University Organizes Workshop on Polio

The School of Medical Science & Research at Sharda University organized a day-long workshop on AFP (acute flaccid paralysis) as seen in children afflicted with Polio. The workshop took place at Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida.
 
Sources have informed that the AFP workshop was part of World Health Organisation (WHO) awareness programme for medical fraternity as held at Sharda Hospital. The workshop was attended by Head of the Departments (HODs) at Sharda Hospital, faculty members, senior and junior resident doctors, students of Sharda University and WHO officials. The AFP Workshop was an eye-opener on AFP and Polio.
 
Besides, renowned doctors and Polio specialists gave presentations and talks during the course of the workshop. The second part opened with a Polio update by Dr. Vohra (SRTL, Ghaziabad). Thereafter, participants from WHO gave presentations on the Epidemiology of Polio and AFP case and AFP Surveillance followed by a ‘question and answer’ session on AFP and Polio. Over 40 doctors and members of medical fraternity from Sharda Hospital took part in the workshop.
 
Furthermore,the second phase of this AFP awareness workshop will be held shortly at the Sharda Hospital in days to come.
