TERI University to Organize Fifth Convocation Tomorrow

Delhi: The fifth convocation ceremony of TERI University is scheduled to be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on January 30, 2013 at 3.30 pm. The ceremony will be conducted at the University campus. A total of six doctoral degrees and 249 master’s degrees will be awarded to respective students during the ceremony.
 
As per the notification issued by the University, Mr. Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address. Later, Dr. RK Pachauri, Chancellor, TERI University, will preside and confer the degrees to respective students. In addition, Prof. Carlo Rubbia, Nobel Laureate, will be present as the Special Guest of Honour.
 
During the ceremony, the University will award honorary doctorates to the following: Mr. Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the PM (Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations); Prof. Carlo Rubbia, Nobel Laureate; Mr. BS Hooda, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Haryana; Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, President of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly; Mr. Zhang Yue, Chairman of BROAD Group and Mr. Thomas Friedman, Journalist and columnist, New York Times.
