New Delhi: TERI University is likely to launch a new Master of Technology (M Tech) course in Urban Development and Management. The course will be offered in the University from its upcoming session 2013. Admission forms for the course will be made available from mid-February 2013. The University, an eminent Energy and Resources Institute, has decided to launch the new course in order to meet solutions for the rising problem of urbanization.
Discussing about the new step, Rajiv Seth, Registrar, TERI University, said that the University wants to focus on developing a cadre of trained students and mid-career professionals who can look at issues of urban development and management through sustainability. Therefore, M Tech in Urban Development and Management will give the students the flexibility to not just learn, but also put into practice what they learn in the form of a year-long project through a multidisciplinary approach, he added.
As per sources, this to-be-launched M Tech in Urban Development and Management will be a two-year course. During this course, students will spend the first year in coursework; however, for the second year, they will be required to take a year-long project with an industry.
