IGNOU Introduces Second Leg of SMS Alerts Services Across India

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the launch of its second leg of SMS Alerts Services across India, to enable better communication between its students and faculty.
 
According to an IGNOU spokesperson, the launch second round of SMS Alerts Services can facilitate all the University’s regional centers, 21 schools, 15 centers and 12 divisions to send SMS to their students in their jurisdiction.
 
Furthermore, the SMS service will also help all departments and headquarters in Delhi to communicate with their students all over the country and also assist regional centers to exchange information with the students for all activities.
 
IGNOU first launched this service on November 18, 2008 at its headquarters in capital and selected regional centers in India. The service certainly helped IGNOU to reduce time in starting activities for its students. Moreover, the service got tremendous response in the University’s regional centers in North-East, Jammu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
 
By looking at this success, the University is also seeking to introduce advanced SMS Alerts Services for its students, sooner or later.
