IGNOU Invites Krishi Vigyan Kendras for Establishment of Study Centers

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited 80 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) for the establishment of study centers on water related issues. As per sources, IGNOU's School of Agriculture has invited these Krishi Vigyan Kendras in order to provide theory and practical counseling in two programmes of IGNOU.
 
Further, sources informed that the two programmes, for which IGNOU has invited KVKs, include Certificate in Water Harvesting and Management and Diploma in Watershed Management. An IGNOU Spokesperson said that there will be no financial implications and liabilities on the institutions involved and entire expense for the conduct and delivery of the programmes will be borne by IGNOU, as per norms.
 
As per sources, the KVKs will work during off time that includes Sundays and holidays. Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar islands are the targets of KVKs, sources added.
